This image speaks for itself. When a guest decides to wash their feet in your fountain, the police scanners are blowing up with "shots fired", their is trash on the ground everywhere, people are eating and running out of the restaurant stiffing the waitress and not paying for food... Va Beach residents are saying "this is an unwanted guest." Va Beach would typically have families vacationing pushing strollers on the boardwalk or kids playing in the surf with mom and dad getting a tan. But, since it's inception years ago when the National Guard had to be called to stop looting and violence "Greek Week" has become more like a prison riot an business owners and residence have had enough. Most of the people coming here are way past college age and are still behaving poorly. This isn't about race, it wouldn't mattter if purple people from mars were coming here for an event the behavior is not only socially unacceptable it's bad for business and the cities image. More and more business owners are being forced to shut down during this weekend in fear of being robbed or having their stores vandalized. Hotel owners notice more damage to their hotels than the entire tourist season. It is time to call a stop to Greek Week at the beach. Let's spend the weekend with a Positive family inspired welcoming atmosphere instead of one where we have to tripple our police staff just to keep the place from being burned down. Share if you want to keep Va Beach the fun happy positive place to visit people love.
